Swedish music streaming service Spotify has added a Google login option that will help new users use their existing Google account to stream the music on the app. This move comes after Google is killing its Google Play Music worldwide and I second this decision as new users won’t need to save another username and password.
The update should be widely available as of the last 24 hours. The option is live for Android users but can’t be seen for iOS or Windows users. Moreover, if you are already using your Google email ID as your Spotify login, you’ll see a pop-up to log in with just your email address and password.
Spotify’s support page mentions, “If your Spotify email address is different to your Google email address, you will create a new account if you choose to sign up with Google.” That is a bit strange but maybe another update could fix it.
