The Taiwanese manufacturer has launched the much awaited Asus 6z (rebranded from Asus Zenforn 6 due to Delhi High Court’s order) in India. The smartphone has compelling hardware that makes it a direct rival to the OnePus 7 Pro, the Redmi K20 Pro, Google Pixel 3a, and Samsung Galaxy S10e. It’s priced in the budget segment, starting at ₹31,999 for the base variant.
The 6z sports a 6.4 inches full-HD+ IPS LCD no-notch NanoEdge display which has an 83.8% screen-to-body-ratio. The phone is covered in Gorilla Glass 6. It runs on the latest Android 9 Pie, with a stock-like Zen UI atop. Asus 6z is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and comes in different storage and RAM variants – 64GB+6GB (₹31,999), 128+6GB (₹34,999), and 56GB+8GB (₹39,999).
Coming to the remarkable feature of the 6z, the cameras steal the spotlight. And a flipping camera at that! The camera can be used in multiple scenarios which can sit any angle you want it to. The company has rigorously tested the flip mechanism by putting a lot of pressure on it, even at the launch event. Coming to the sensors, there are two, the main 48MP sensor which is a Sony IMX586 lens with a 13MP ultra-wide sensor with a 125º field of view. As it’s a rotating or flip camera, as Asus likes to call it, you can have the same sensors as your selfie cameras.
The phone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery (Quick Charge 4.0) and ships with an 18W fast charger. Asus claims the battery will last two full days. Catering to the Indian consumers, Asus has a bunch of features that would be region-specific, such as Call recording, twin apps, outdoor mode, Mobile manager, FM mode, and app lock using face and fingerprint for authentication. Moreover, the firm has invited developers to create custom ROMs of the camera.
The phone will ship exclusively via Flipkart starting June 26th. It is available in Midnight Black and Twilight Silver. People will get a few offers on Flipkart like on-site support, replacements, repairs for just ₹99 instead of ₹3999.[table id=17 /]
