ASUS ROG Phone 2 to be unveiled in India on September 23

ASUS is known for its innovations which helps it to stand out. The ROG Phone 2 from its gaming series is another example. The phone was launched last month in China and now it will be available in India as well. ASUS took to twitter to announce the launch event, which will take place on September 23.

Its predecessor, the original ROG Phone was well received and applauded by tech critics and gamers alike. The ROG 2’s staple feature is its 120Hz display, which is double from that of the OnePlus 7 Pro’s 90Hz display and of course, the other 60Hz screens. Another icing on the cake is the Snapdragon 855+ which gives gaming a boost.

Thanks to the launch in China, we know the concrete specifications of ROG Phone 2. It sports a 120 Hz 6.5 inches FHD+ display with 2,340 x 1,080 pixels, with the added ability to render 10-bit HDR color. If you are hoping for a full bezeless display, then you would be disappointed as the phone has bezels on the top and bottom which house the dual-speaker unit. The touchscreen sampling has a 240Hz which gives the phone a touch latency to just 49ms.

ROG Phone 2 is powered by Snapdragon 855+ SoC. As a matter of fact, this was the first smartphone launched with the new chipset. Snapdragon 855+ offers a 15% increase in graphics as compared to Snapdragon 855. To take the specs sheet on another level, it has a 12GB RAM, the sole variant, coupled with up to 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage. There’s also some vapor chamber and cooling mechanisms that have been passed from the original ROG phone. ROG Phone 2 has a mammoth 6000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. The dual cameras have been carried forward from the Asus 6z.

The ROG Phone 2 will be available exclusively on Flipkart.
