Apple has been explaining what Facebook is actually up to. Part of its rhetoric includes how much Facebook is actually tracking the users, which could convince many users to opt-out. Facebook’s inexplicable struggle is seen by the world and the fact that it’s striving hard to make Apple amend its privacy policies as it might be a huge hit to its business.
According to Facebook, the tweaks in Apple’s policy will make the user’s favorite sports blogs or cooking sites charge subscription fees, which will “make the internet much more expensive and reducing high-quality free content.”
According to Apple, Facebook is gathering boundless amounts of user data. The iOS 14 update aims to prohibit Facebook from tracking user movements outside of Facebook-owned apps, such as Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram, without their approval. Facebook is concerned that this would affect its targeted ads segment, and the social media giant is still accelerating against Apple and collecting massive amounts of data.
