Samsung is on a launching spree. The South Korean giant unveiled a total of 12 flagship devices, in a year, including the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip. It seems Samsung isn’t done with foldable. The Galaxy Fold 2 might see a July 2020 launch with some interesting upgrades.
Known as ‘Project Champ,’ the device may be known as Galaxy Z Fold or the Galaxy Z Fold 2 or just Galaxy Fold 2. That won’t be the news. It’s rumored that Samsung might use under-display cameras so we might say goodbye to the hideous notch seen on the Fold, after all!
Ajunews, a Korean publication, reported that the Galaxy Fold 2 will have a 7.7 inches foldable display. Samsung has been rumored to be working on under-display camera technology since at least 2018 but Xiaomi and OPPO beat it. Other rumors suggest that the Fold 2 could have an improved hinge design and Samsung’s Ultra-Thin Glass technology that was launched with the Galaxy Z Flip. It could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and/or Exynos 990 processor.
