Google App is Getting Dark Mode; Visible in Discover, Search, and Settings

After the Android Q beta was teased with system-wide dark mode, other Google apps started receiving an update which gave users the option to turn on the dark mode. Apps like Google News, Google Calendar, Google Maps, Keep Notes, and YouTube have all embraced the dark mode. Now, the Californian giant is rolling out a dark mode to the Google app, as reported by XDA Developers. It will engulf the Google Search, Google Discover, and Google Settings in dark with a flick of a switch.

The roll-out is a staged one so no one would have access to it. The option is visible under the More section of the app. Click on the Settings, head to the General tab where Dark theme will be located. Interestingly, the background in all the Google apps who have introduced the dark mode is colored in dark grey instead of pure black, like Samsung’s apps.

A full system-wide dark mode will be rolled out along with Android Q in the upcoming Google Pixel 4.
