Google might unveil 2 mid-range Pixel phones this year

One of the phones could support 5G.

Google’s Pixel 3a series was one of the most recommended phones of 2019, thanks to its compact form factor and camera. The search giant is all set to repeat that success as it is reported that the Pixel 4a series is in works.

According to XDA Developers, three codenames were leaked – sunfish, redfin, and bramble. Sunfish is rumored to come with Snapdragon 730 which is 4G-only. Snapdragon is the successor to the Snapdragon 670, which was used in the Pixel 3a and 3a XL. This means that the upcoming Pixel 4a series’ price could hover around $400 (₹28,400).

Now coming to redfin and bramble, they could be equipped with the Snapdragon 765, which is Qualcomm’s new 5G chip which is specifically made of high-end, mid-range smartphones. Speaking of cameras, they could come with dual cameras, just like the Google Pixel 4 series.

There isn’t any surety that redfin, bramble, and sunfish are certainly mid-range Pixel devices so we could see references to these code-names in AOSP and Google apps soon.
