Windows 10 is a lot less complicated operating system than its execrable predecessor Windows 8, thanks to the barrage of updates. From removing the annoying Charms and bringing back the original Start Menu, albeit a bit refined, were some major changes that were well received from critics and public alike. Although there are no “regular” frustrations with Windows 10, nothing is perfect and the OS has a long way to go before it is deemed perfect. There are still some bugs with the Microsoft Stores, Sticky Notes, the Photos app, and the way Windows 10 handles basic options. A Windows 10 amateur or novice could accidentally click something and boom… Somethings are either gone or added. The frustration alone can make a person hate the operating system.
A classic example is the icons on your desktop. You can easily create a shortcut of Documents or Pictures folder on the desktop but sometimes new personal computers need a bit of customization to be done. In some PCs, the icon for Recycle Bin is missing which can get confusing for a lot of people who are just exploring their new devices. Or maybe you find the icon a bit frustrating and want to get rid of it. So, in this tutorial, we’ll show you how to show or hide the recycle bin icon on/from your Windows 10 Desktop.
How to Show or hide the Recycle Bin icon on Windows 10 Desktop
If you can’t find recycle bin, go to your desktop by hitting the Windows Logo + D key combination. Right-click anywhere and select Properties.
Go to Themes and select Desktop icon settings.
Along with Recycle Bin, you will get other options too. Tick the box in front of Recycle Bin, click on Apply and hit OK.
You can now see the Recycle Bin icon on your Desktop. Repeat the procedure if you want to hide Recycle Bin from your Desktop.
If you can’t find your recycle bin, follows the above-outlined steps. The options can also be applied to Computer, User’s Files, Control Panel, and Network. Moreover, if you are fed up of the icon, you can easily change the existing icons and download new ones from IconArchive. You can find icons for everything. Make sure if you are planning to use these images as icons, download it in the ICO format or else, the system won’t detect it. To change an icon, bring up Recycle Bin’s properties and click on Change Icon. If you like the preloaded icons, choose any one or else click on Browse. Navigate to the folder where you’ve downloaded the icons and click on anyone.
