We have transitioned from a time when a 32MB card felt like overkill to a future where phones with 1TB are being launched. Do we really need this much storage? That depends from person to person. But whether or not we need it is altogether a different question, how do we transfer such huge amounts of data is the pressing question! Cables and wires are a hefty option for people with mobile jobs. Enter wireless transfer. While it’s possible to control your PC from your smartphone, transferring data wirelessly requires another method. And in this tutorial, we are going to show you to transfer files from your phone to any PC, or another phone for that matter.
How To Wirelessly Transfer Files From Your Phone To Your PC
Step 1: Download Send Anywhere from the Google Play Store. Open the app once it’s downloaded.
Step 2: The app opens to a Recent tab which shows all your recently available media, be it photos or videos. If you specifically want to send videos and the current data is too overwhelming, select the Videos tab.
Step 3: Select a bunch of media files you want to send. Tap on the circle to check the media or tap in the middle of the media to see it in full size.
Step 4: Once you select the media, you will get three options – SEND, a share link icon, and three dots.
Step 5: Click on SEND. You will see a 6-digit key that you need to enter on your PC.
Step 6: You can either log on to Send Anywhere’s website and use it as a web medium or download the software for continuous use.
Step 7: Tap on the Transfer option. Type in the 6-digit key in the Receive Input Key option.
Step 8: You’ll get 10 minutes in which you have to enter the key or else the key will expire. Once you’ve entered the key, it’ll show you details of the files that you will receive. Tap on the tick mark icon if you don’t want a particular file. Hit the Download button.
Step 9: It will show you that the media is downloaded. Hit the folder icon next to the files, which reveals the location of the file.
Step 10: To explore further options, got to Settings (on both devices). Make sure the alerts are checked.
Step 11: If you want to change the download location of the file, go to Settings > Download Path and select the folder you’d want to set as the default folder.
Step 12: To transfer files from PC to your phone, repeat the mobile process here. Don’t forget to put an input key. Select Receive option in your phone an enter the input key.
Send Anywhere can also be used for transferring data mobile to mobile. It has a share link and WiFi Direct option.
