Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) India Launch Scheduled for August 1st

Huawei’s 2019 Y9 Prime edition is all set for an official launch in India. The phone was teased quite a while now and that day is finally here. The Y9 Prime 2019 was launched in China, Chile, Saudi Arabia, and Kenya this year. The specifications are worthy of a budget phone. Huawei’s official website has listed all the specifications of the upcoming smartphone, while e-commerce website Amazon has teased the official launch which is scheduled for August 1st.

Huawei Y9 Prime’s screen is an LTPS IPS LCD 6.5 inches Ultra FullView Display which proudly ditches the notch. It has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels which boasts of a 19.5:9 ratio. The phone could achieve this immersive look by implementing a pop-up front camera.

The phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9 atop and is powered by Huawei’s own Hisilicon Kirin 710F which is a 12 nm chipset along with Octa-core Cortex-A73 & Mali-G51 MP4. The phone offers just one with 4GB RAM 128GB base storage. It can be expanded up to 512GB via a micro SD card.

Y9 Prime (2019) sports a triple camera setup which includes a 16MP (f/1.8) primary lens, an 8 MP secondary lens and a 2 MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. It can shoot videos at 1080@30fps. The bezeless look is possible because of the 16MP (f/2.0) motorized pop-up front camera. It too can shoot videos at 1080@30fps. To keep things ticking, the phone has a 4000 mAh battery


The official pricing is not yet known but it does cost anywhere between ₹15,000 and ₹17,000 in the countries that it was launched a few months ago. The same pricing can be expected when it launches in India. Interested folks can go ahead and click on the ‘Notify Me’ tab on Amazon India.
