English singer-songwriter Harry Edward Styles, better known as Harry Styles, is in the news as his hit ‘As It Was’ has become the longest-running No. 1 on the US singles chart by a British artist.
The song has reached the 15th week on top of the Billboard Hot 100, breaking the record previously held together by Mark Ronson and Sir Elton John for their hits, ‘Uptown Funk’ and ‘Candle In The Wind,’ respectively, which spent 14 weeks on the chart’s top spot.
Moreover, Styles’ film ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ is also number one on the US cinema box office chart.
‘As It Was’ now exclusively boasts the fourth-longest reign in the Hot 100’s history and has also earned the longest command since Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road,’ featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, which ruled for a record 19 weeks in 2019.
Meanwhile, Styles has followed in the footsteps of Eminem and Prince by being one of the rare artists to have pinnacled the music and box office charts simultaneously.
