India Bans 59 Chinese Apps including TikTok, UC Browser, Shein, Wechat & More

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has banned 59 Chinese mobile applications in what is believed to be one of the ways of retaliating. This is done under Section 69A of the Information Technology. The ministry has classified them as being prejudicial to the defense, integrity, and sovereignty of India.

The list includes some popular apps such as TikTok, WeChat, UC Browser, Helo, etc. This move is another indication that nothing is fine between India and China, especially after 20 Indian soldiers were killed on the border this month. Insiders believe that this will safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile and internet users.
