As per a recent report by MyDrivers, Apple is done testing the iPhone 9 and is preparing to launch it soon. However, there is no information on when the phone will be launched but the report mentions that Apple might put up the iPhone 9 on sale within the first quarter of 2020. There are chances that India could get to see the phone first before other markets. The phone is expected to be based on the 2017 iPhone 8 but will use all the components from the newer iPhone 11. There are also chances that the phone is launch at a price lower than the OnePlus 7T.
The report suggests that Apple will eventually come with a price that could put several affordable Android flagships to shame. The phone is expected to launch in two variants and the one with 64GB storage will cost $399 (approx. Rs 28,000). The one with 128GB storage is expected to retail at $449 (approx. Rs 32,000). The phone is expected to use the internals of the iPhone 11 i.e. Apple’s A13 Bionic chipset which is currently the most powerful chip in a smartphone.
The phone is expected to include an iPhone 8-like design with the same old 4.7-inch display that will house a TouchID Home button below it. Moreover, Apple is going to offer the same main 12-megapixel camera from the iPhone 11 but there won’t be a dual-camera setup.
