Leaked OnePlus 8 Pro shows off a punch-hole display and quad camera setup

OnePlus had a crazy year. With the OnePlus 7 flagships conquering the Q2 of this year, the 7T and 7T Pro were defined as the real “pro” smartphones by critics. Not to mention the OnePlus TV, which has gotten somewhat mixed reviews. But that doesn’t stop the rumor mills from churning new details about 2020 OnePlus 8 Pro.

Leaked OnePlus 8 Pro shows off a punch-hole display and quad camera setup

The 2020 flagship won’t have a pop-up camera. Instead, it will opt for a punch-hole design where the camera will occupy a portion of the screen, just like the S10 series. This means that the design will still be bezeless, albeit with a dot on the screen. That might take some time getting used to.

The images were leaked by noted leaker @OnLeaks via a tweet. The link directs to a 91 Mobile post where high-quality renders can be accessed.

There’s a new fourth camera – a depth-sensing 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor that augments the three existing cameras, currently seen on the Huawei and Samsung flagships. It can be used for 3D photography and AR among others. The setup is accompanied by an LED flash.

The button layout on the OnePlus 8 Pro will not undergo any change. The top only has a mic, while the USB Type-C port and speaker are located at the bottom. No 3.5mm headphone jack can be seen, which is obvious given every manufacturer is getting rid of it. and it likely won’t make a comeback on future OnePlus phones.

As per the leaked info, the OnePlus 8 Pro has a 6.6 inches screen and is slightly longer and slightly narrower than its predecessor at 165.3 x 74.4 x 8.8mm – but it does have the exact same thickness.

We’ll have to wait for more leaks and rumors to pinpoint the features. Stay tuned for more updates.
