Motorola One Action Launched in Europe; Features 21:9 CinemaVision Display, Exynos 9609 with Triple Rear Cameras

Motorola is trying hard to catch the running bus of success as it is on a smartphone-launching spree. After unveiling the Motorola One Vision in June in India, the American smartphone maker has taken the wraps off its new budget phone, the Motorola One Action in Europe. The phone boasts some impressive specs for its price tag. The Action in the name points at the ability of the cameras.

The Motorola One Action is the newest addition to the Motorola family, which already includes fascinating budget phones such as the original Motorola One, Motorola One Power, and Motorola One Vision. The phone’s main highlights are the triple rear cameras and the 21:9 CinemaVision display that has a Samsung Galaxy S10e style hole-punch design.


Motorola One Action flaunts a 6.3-inch full-HD+ IPS CinemaVision display, with an aspect ratio of 21:9. It runs Android 9 Pie and it can be upgraded to the upcoming Android Q and Android R with security updates for three years from the initial global launch, as promised by the company in the blog post. It is powered by an octa-core Samsung Exynos 9609 SoC, paired with Mali G72 MP3 GPU and 4GB RAM. The Motorola One Action has base storage of 128GB that can be extended via microSD card, up to 512GB.

Coming to the phone’s main USP, the One Action sports a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 12MP sensor with an f/1.8 lens and an action camera with 2-micron pixel size and f/2.2 lens. It supports 117-degree of Field of Vie. The setup also includes a 5MP depth sensor with an f/2.2 lens for good portrait shots. The selfie camera is a 12MP sensor with 1.25-micron pixel size and an f/2.0 lens that has features like Group selfie, Portrait mode, Auto smile capture, Shot optimization Portrait lighting, and Cinemagraph.

To keep things ticking, the One Action packs a 3500mAh battery that supports 10W charging. The phone has a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. Other connectivity options that the phone has are the usual Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, FM Radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Users can choose from Denim Blue, Pearl White, and Aqua Teal.

Pricing & Availability

The phone is priced at EUR 259 (approximately ₹20,400) and goes on sale in Brazil, Mexico, and other European countries. It will be launched in India on August 23. It will be based on Google’s Android One program in Latin America and Europe. The Android One branding won’t be available in the US and Canada. In India, the Motorola One Action will debut with Android One.
