Oppo launched the K3 smartphone in China back in May and now it seems that it will soon reach the Indian shores as Amazon’s Notify Me page gave a sneak-peek into the smartphone and its peculiar features. Essentials like screen-to-body ratio and Gorilla Glass protection are quite similar to that of the Oppo K3. If you observe carefully, the image has 3.0 is light silver, which indicates that the smartphone is indeed K3. A teaser that was released in China last month boasted about the 91.1% screen to body ratio and the image cannot be a coincidence.
The image also mentions eye protection, which is a subtle hint at the TUV Rheinland certification of the K3’s display which dramatically cuts down the harmful blue light emission.
The launch is yet to be confirmed officially by OPPO. As for the specifications, the phone features a 6.5 inches full-HD+ AMOLED display with DC dimming feature. As it is an AMOLED display, the phone has an under-display fingerprint scanner for security. It has a unique projection technology which unlocks the phone faster.
The phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie with ColorOS 6.0 atop and is powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with 8GB RAM. You get three variants of Oppo K3 – 6GB RAM + 64GB, 6GB RAM + 128GB, and the top-end 8GB RAM + 256GB. The smartphone packs a 3765mAh battery which supports the company’s unique VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology.
On the camera side of things, the pop-up selfie camera is a 16MP sensor while the rear dual camera module includes a 16MP sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Given how much the device costs in China, the Oppo K3 might start at ₹16,100 for the base variant and could go all the way up to ₹23,200 for the high-end model.
