Chinese manufacturer OPPO launched its A5 budget sibling the A5s. OPPO had launched this device in Russia last month under the moniker OPPO AX5s. While there was no noise made about the launch, even in India it didn’t witness any fanfare. The A5s will be launched at ₹9,990 and thus it will be competing neck to neck against the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi 7 and Samsung Galaxy A20. It will be available for purchase from next week at offline stores and online retailers.
The A5s sports a 6.2 inches IPS LCD HD+ display with a waterdrop notch, or “screen” as OPPO likes to call it. It has a MediaTek MT6765 Helio P35 SoC coupled with 2/3/4GB RAM. You get base storage of 32GB and the other option is the 64GB, both expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.
On the camera front, it has a dual camera setup consisting of a 13MP primary lens and a 2MP secondary lens. For crisp selfies, the A5s sports an 8MP snapper. For biometrics, you get a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. While it has a massive 4230mAh battery, there is no support for fast charging.
OPPO is upping its game to get back in the race of budget segments with A5s. What do you think about this phone? Will you be buying this phone? Let us know in the comments below.
