Oppo will launch the much-rumored K3 today in India at an event in New Delhi at 6 p.m. The K3 was unveiled in China back in May. The pricing and other details will be revealed at the launch event. It will be an Amazon exclusive which will also be sold on Oppo’s online store. Amazon has already teased about the K3 with a ‘Notify Me’ tag for those interested in knowing the cost of the device.
The phone is lit by an edge-to-edge 6.5 inches Super AMOLED display with special features like Non-Stroboscopic Low Light and Eye protection along with something known as DC dimming feature. There’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor which has a projection technology which unlocks the phone faster than the competition. The Chinese manufacturer achieved the full immersive display by implementing the pop-up camera mechanism.
Oppo K3 is powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with 6/8GB RAM The storage options include 64/128/256GB. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie based on Oppo’s ColorOS 6.0. It has a dual rear camera setup that is equipped with a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera is a 16MP pop-up camera.
To keep the things ticking, the smartphone packs a 3,765mAh battery which supports the company’s VOOC 3.0 fast charging. Converting the Chinese prices, the K3 should start somewhere around ₹16,000 for the base 6GB+64GB model and ₹23,500 for the beefed-up 8GB+256GB variant.
