Realme will take the wraps off its two budget smartphones in India. On August 20, the new devices are set to replace the already popular Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro which was launched by the firm earlier this year. As most Chinese phone manufacturers skip the number 4, Realme, too, will name their upcoming smartphones as the 5 series. The Realme 5 & Realme 5 Pro will be priced aggressively to compete with its rivals such as ASUS, Motorola, and Xiaomi.
Realme India Chief Madhav Sheth yesterday tweeted the camera specifications of one the models. This will definitely build some hype among Realme fans.

Realme 5 Pro Expected Specifications
The Realme 5 Pro could sport a 6.3 inches full-HD+ display, a now-standard amongst phones nowadays, with an under-display fingerprint sensor. It might be an optical sensor, just like the one present on the OnePlus 7. The Pro version might come in three variants – 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB, and 6GB+128GB. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. To jog your memory, the Realme 3 Pro and Realme X came with a slightly old Snapdragon 710. To keep things ticking, it’ll be powered by a 4000mAh battery that supports 20W fast VOOC 3.0 fast charging.
On the camera side of things, the Realme 5 Pro will include a quad camera setup that was shown off by Madhav Sheth. The primary sensor will be Sony’s 48MP IMX 586 sensor with an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP sensor that would improve the portrait mode. The front camera will be a 16MP sensor.
Realme 5 Expected Specifications
The Realme 5 will have a slightly lower spec-sheet but will be a powerful device. It might sport a 6.5 inches HD+ display which will be powered by Snapdragon 655 SoC. Just like the Pro model, it will also be offered in three variants – 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB, and 6GB+128GB. The Realme 5 might also sport the quad-camera setup that it’s powerful sibling has. Except, the main lens will be a 12MP sensor instead of the 48MP sensor.
As for the battery, the smaller version might come with a bigger battery but might lower the charging speeds at it might support charging up to 18W, which will also come with a slower VOOC 18W charger. Rumors suggest the Realme 5 might come with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The cost of the two Realme 5 smartphones and other concrete features will be revealed at the official launch i.e. on 20.08.2019, 12.30PM.
