Samsung is on a launching spree as in the last few days, it has launched two tablets and now a total of three smartwatches with improved features and a bit aggressive pricing. Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, which was announced back in February with the Galaxy S10 siblings is finally seeing the light of the day in India. The other two wearables are Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e. All three wearables are made purely for fitness enthusiasts.
The newly launched Galaxy Watch Active has a lot under the hood. For starters, it has a 1.1-inch 360×360 display with a circular AMOLED screen. It is covered in Gorilla Glass 3 and runs on Tizen-based Wearable OS 4.0 and is powered by Exynos 9110 SoC. The battery is a 230mAh cell, which according to Samsung, can be used for 45 hours on a single charge. Moreover, it has 768MB RAM and 4GB storage.
The remarkable feature of the Galaxy Watch Active is monitoring heart rate and blood pressure (via My BP app). It also recognizes 39 different activities, which includes exercise, sleep, stress, health tracking, etc.
Samsung said in a statement, “Galaxy Watch Active takes a holistic approach to monitor everything that matters most. Its exercise, sleep, stress, and health tracking features make Galaxy Watch Active a personal lifestyle coach for those seeking a healthier body and mind.”
Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, IP68 certificate with 5ATM water resistance, Bluetooth 4.2, wireless charging support, and NFC for mobile payments. Consumers can choose from Black, Deep Green, Rose Gold, and Silver color options. The watch will be available starting today, on the Samsung Online Store and Amazon India for ₹19,999.
