Instagram, which is owned by Meta, is testing a new feature that will protect users from receiving unsolicited nude photos.
"Nudity protection" technology "covers photos that may contain nudity in chat," giving users the option of viewing or not viewing them.
Meta confirmed to The Verge that this feature is in the works.
Technology will not allow the company to view or share the actual messages.
The Pew Research Center released a report last year that revealed 33% of women under the age of 35 had been sexually harassed online.
