Today in Christchurch, Spark is launching a 5G service.
In the city centers of Auckland, Takapuna, Te Awamutu, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, and Dunedin, Spark has already activated 5G mobile.
In a few locations, Samsung was supplying its 4G solutions to Spark's existing network to help improve services.
Samsung has equipped its 5G Massive MIMO radios as well as other systems for its 5G expansion.
In order to start its 5G upgrade later this year, 2degrees is also in contact with other vendors.
Spark revealed in August of last year that it would invest an additional $35 million to hasten the rollout of 5G.
